Outreach

ASPIRE has a unique opportunity to provide information for teachers and students. Additionally, the ASPIRE group, itself, provides direct opportunities for outreach and research. Some of the things we have done in the past include:

  • Production of the ‘Mystery of Ultra-High Energy Cosmic Rays’ documentary (This video is available for viewing in your classroom simply by contacting Julie Callahan [julie@cosmic.utah.edu].)
  • Internship opportunities for students
  • Science Fair project ideas and facilitation
  • Training for teachers in online web development and HTML (Training for the ASPIRE interactive lessons is also available on request.)
  • University science research opportunities

As the educational outreach program of the High Resolution Fly’s Eye Group, ASPIRE is committed to providing direct support to the teachers and students of Utah and surrounding areas. Please feel free to contact us regarding any opportunities you would like to coordinate.

Cosmic Ray Research - Teacher Resources
This project took its start with the cosmic ray research group at the University of Utah. Consequently, our initial emphasis will be on developing physical science lessons, with special labs dedicated to the study of current astrophysics topics.
